Salinas's return. For some by surprise but for others in a setting quite clear, the case was former President Carlos Salinas de Gortari decided to break into the debate on the poet's protest march Javier Sicilia. And he did it to show solidarity with the protesters and advise the Government on how to negotiate with organizations of the movement together around Sicily.
Salinas is a politician chills, except when things have to do with Ernesto Zedillo, whom Salinas put in office and who imprisoned Raul Salinas. Recent attacks against media Salinas Zedillo by the devaluation of December 1994 took the stage for the description of Zedillo as director of Citigroup, the bank bought Banamex. Now Salinas took the protest march from Sicily to seek a new political space.
Salinas councils have to do with a fact and undeniable: The transformation of the movement of Sicily in a rebellion to protest the system, ie, against the political system, institutional, and substantive partnership with the EZLN and breakaway movements: The Atencos, the EMS and some other similar type organizations. Thus, the mobilization of Sicily could be considered as the second round of the EZLN and its proposed settlement of the old PRI regime.
Salinas is looking for a political space that has to do with the electoral trend in the polls that benefits the return of the PRI to the presidency of the republic. The last two books of the former president would give the logic of the PRI government program consistent with the evidence that will be virtually impossible to restore the old power structure of the PRI. Worse, some analysts consider the possibilities not only void PRI reconfiguration of corporatism, but do not see the conditions for a neo-corporatism.
In the private agenda of Salinas also located critical feelings about the statements of President Felipe Calderón against previous governments that allowed the rise of drug trafficking and drug cartels. Some sources advanced that the former president would release an assessment of the balance of his government in drug trafficking, but so far have been detained because he would urge a review of violence linked to drug trafficking gangs. Above all, the murder of Cardinal Juan Jesus Posadas Ocampo in May 1993 amid gunfire between the bands of the Arellano Felix and the "Chapo" Guzman.
However, Salinas is looking for opportunities to wash the face of his government. And even at the grassroots level appear to be as devastating criticism that once plagued the former President Lopez Portillo, however the former president is very sensitive to the dynamics of the criticism in the red circle called journalism.
intended Salinas is in its role as a stabilizing factor in the PRI policy, where there are always seeds of divisive groups that have caused electoral defeats. So far, Salinas is the only political figure capable to mediate between groups to avoid the fractures that allowed the presidential defeats in 2000 and 2006. However, and despite having much influence on him, Salinas could not contain the triumphalism of Mexican governor Enrique Peña Nieto, who operates the PRI as if he were the president of the republic in office.
However, Salinas has started to come out of the coordinates of interest of the electorate. Nearly twenty years of confined spaces are large enough to undermine the greatest strengths, as might be worn in the figures of Cuauhtemoc Cardenas and Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador himself. A Salinas damaged his Zedillo organized persecution but also the negative balance of 1994, which began as a political cycle in May 1993 with the assassination of Cardinal Posadas and ended with the devaluation of December 20, 1994.
Salinas will become the subject of Lopez Obrador's campaign and the media battle will begin in the State of Mexico, where the PRD are preparing a protest campaign against a candidate Eruviel Avila Peña Nieto and Salinas. In politics enough hints to influence the collective imagination. Therefore, and despite his desire to recover space, Salinas could be accumulating evidence that no strings of power and room for maneuver.
It may Salinas be seeing evidence that his political mediation could go on why today's politicians have different ways of acting. The PRI has initiated a number of years the return of ideological definitions, historical and programmatic Salinas took off with neoliberal reforms 1991-1993. And it also helps that the strands of neo-corporatism are still in Los Pinos with the current president of the republic.
Therefore, the political margins are lower Salinas and the PRI some consider that would help the party over whether the former president will stay away from the decisions of power, including power wires institutions of neo-corporatism. And the former president himself may also be noticed the terrible fact of political power in Mexico: the power is exercised by who does, not who had it. Hence
Salinas is experiencing firsthand what he suffered the powerful President Luis Echeverria when he left power: The political vacuum. Until now, the PRI still have not done bad sides to Salinas, but this does not mean that long for its return. The figure of the former president in the center of the campaigns would damage the electoral prospects of the tricolor.
However, Salinas is going to walk the tightrope until the PRI itself do to one side.

For EU, Peña Nieto is made in the mold of stale
newspaper La Jornada
Monday May 23, 2011, p. 2
The PRI usually has the governor of the state of Mexico, Enrique Peña Nieto, representing "a party more youthful, fresh and modern, adapted to the new democratic realities of Mexico." And of course, as the "future president of Mexico."
However, analysts at the U.S. embassy who conducted a two-day trip to the entity 10 and September 11, 2009, the politician, who is called "the godson of former President Carlos Salinas", rather " seems cut from the same cloth " that the PRI old guard.
"Made in the mold of stale mexiquense PRI, Peña Nieto is acknowledged by its transparency, when it comes to friends and allies, as was the case of the protection he gave to his predecessor, former Gov. Arturo Montiel, to prevent him from being investigated for corruption early in his administration.
All this and more officials say the political section of the U.S. embassy cable extensive classified as sensitive and delicate, the 09MEXICO2778, dated September 24, filtered by Wikileaks to La Jornada, which reported a his superiors at the State Department their views on the environment of the state ruler.
argue that the PRI in the state of Mexico "has a reputation to take advantage of existing cracks on transparency to get campaign funds. Given the large amount of money flowing through the body and given the position that has Peña Nieto as a pointer in the presidential race, it seems unlikely that his administration is taking advantage of this situation. "
The visit was hosted by the Office of International Affairs of the government in Toluca for diplomats of the political section of the American mission. Interviews with an agenda orchestrated in detail with personally selected partners government officials, were given an "unbalanced perspective on the performance of the governor who aspires to be president."
For U.S. advisers are obvious the real reason for this "stepped approach" Peña Nieto of the United States as part of their preparation for the presidential race.
Governor-candidate-expresses the firm in its conclusions, "is ready to prove he's ready for the presidency. It is therefore expected that in the next three years of fundraising and campaign trying to woo an increasingly more intense. "
“Pero sólo two percent of officers have undergone the test. "
More recent data, according to a note by Gustavo Castillo posted on April 4, 2011 in La Jornada-mentioning that in the state of Mexico had a compliance of only 10 percent in the controls. In the first half of 2011 only 800 thousand municipal police came and the State Security Agency, a total of 75 000.
Moreover, visitors to the embassy Peña Nieto unequivocally identified as a candidate of Televisa: "It is generally accepted that the television monopoly supports the governor and provides large amounts of air time and all kinds of coverage."
said all this, the cable says. "Do not underestimate the wit and political savvy of Peña Nieto, or its equipment. It is evident that features expert advice on managing your image and public relations. Proof of this is the propaganda of the public commitments '600 '. "
This work revolves mainly be allowed visitors a clear idea about" the personal style of governing "de Peña Nieto, say the authors of cable, which was titled A look at the state of Mexico, a Potemkin village. This is a term from the political repertoire of the Cold War with respect to the façade projects presented for purposes of creating an illusion of progress and to hide a less idyllic reality. It refers to organize tours that used the old communist Soviet Union scenic villages where foreign visitors showed a false welfare and development.
The cable concluded: "Obviously the governor is playing politics with an eye on the presidential election of 2010, and gestures to approach the U.S. government are no exception. Not surprisingly, immediately after the success (PRI) in the midterm elections of July, which released the brake on their ambitions and seek the cooperation of our government in judicial and security, including information exchange, technology, research training and assistance. "
The sudden increase in personnel in the Office of International Affairs in Toluca-eight to 35 people employed, is played well in the lead: "The governor is polishing his international credentials." New members of the office "are perfectly familiar with what the U.S. government wants to hear about investment, immigration and security issues."
Playing with the words of the "600 commitments" articulate peñanietista propaganda, the analyst resume: "It's clear commitment to Peña Nieto with popular infrastructure projects, what remains unclear is its commitment to progressive reform."
acknowledges that his influence is dominant in most municipalities in the state, the local Congress and a large portion of the Chamber of Deputies, will Peña Nieto's ability to mark the passage of statewide policy and lesser extent at the federal level over the next three years.
The tour of the U.S. diplomats held at a government summit of Peña Nieto, right in the middle of his term and after the midterm elections on July 5 (in which the PRI spent to control 97 of the 125 municipalities of the State of Mexico, 40 of the 45 local congressional seats and 38 of the 40 federal deputies elected in the State of Mexico). In the process, recognizes the cable-the PRI "passed the acid test, could prove to be able to get election results favorable to their party and that is more than just a pretty face."
One of his partners, the Secretary of Government, Alejandro Nieto Enriquez admitted that Peña Nieto would from then on hands free to implement all its projects, especially given the decline of the PAN and the PRD in the vicinity of state.
political adviser who wrote the office makes the observation that 14 of the 19 PRI governors attending the annual report as evidence of its "growing power." Warns that while "it is too early to make sure all the PRI will close ranks around Peña Nieto (is just 2009), most of the party elected officials are measuring the benefits they can get to strengthen its relationship with him."
Among the factors that determined the success of the PRI, observed by the analyst at the embassy, \u200b\u200breferred to the constant infighting and cost the PRD to the PAN meant the deterioration of the economy. But it also recognizes the burden that's popularity had Peña Nieto (70 percent in a survey of those times, the Americans considered reliable.) "This gives the PRI a boost that was sorely needed."
But, he adds, "Here the question is to see to what extent this popularity is the result of the governor's personal charisma and the care put into styling your image or what therefore has to do with a serious work to improve the conditions of his condition and carry out necessary reforms. " The tour
mexiquense Peña Nieto officials opened to visitors from EU the doors of its security apparatus. They were taken to meet the C-4 of the State Security Agency (SSA) to observe the work of its analysts processing information from different databases in collaboration with the secretariats of the federal Public Security and Defence, and teams of paramedics and firefighters.
Visitors were struck by the state attorney is not physically present in the C-4. ASE officials explained that a "hotline" to communicate continuously with the attorney, but that communication "is not always easy." In the state of Mexico is receiving assistance from Germany, Israel, Colombia, Spain and Chile for the operation of C-4.
The cable notes that the state of Mexico, with its crowded cities and impoverished rural areas, is "fertile ground for all types of crime, particularly drug-related. According to statistics from the embassy itself, the drug-related homicides show a steady upward trend. In 2006 it was 31, in 2007, 11. In 2008, fire at 360. And until September 2009 when the cable, were 231 murders. This year, the entity mexiquense ranked sixth in the list of states with high levels of violence associated with the drug trade.
As little as a plural point selecting civil society partners who were scheduled to meet with the U.S. delegation, mentioned cable Ernesto Cardenas, "the highly respected NGO Insyde (Institute for Security and Democracy), who praised the performance of C-4.
On the other hand, cast doubt on some information received on the state's economic development, particularly highway projects to join the Pacific ports in the Gulf Michoacán in Veracruz, to the state of Mexico, a logistics hub. The analyst mentions "the almost unbelievable figure they gave us a 6 percent growth last year."
"Same old PRI?"
cable
The author refers to a time the conversation should not have been comfortable for the hosts. "Pressed to explain to us what lies the popularity of Peña Nieto. Officials responded by explaining the commitments '600 'or campaign promises, which the governor signed before a notary at the beginning of his administration. "Our political advisors that they smelled most lasting achievements populism than to improve conditions in the state."
The cable describes the applicant in the State of Mexico landscape, where every public building, every road segment, every hospital and every corner exhibits propaganda "Fulfilling the commitment."
But, he adds the text, "the serious work has been slower. The state of Mexico lags behind in competitiveness. The statistics of efficiency in business, 2009 is ranked 28 (of the 31 states of Mexico). Edomex not yet adopted the necessary legislation to reform its judicial system, leaving far behind Peña Nieto others, and only 2 percent of its security officers have undergone a process of investigation. It is clear that the governor is committed to the popular infrastructure projects, it is not clear its commitment to progressive reform. "
carefully selected to meet representatives from Washington, officials international affairs office of Toluca also spent a bitter pill to explaining "why Peña Nieto is a modern PRI." Cable says: "railing against stagnant unions and monopolies, but in the following paragraph suggested that this system of political and economic interests coalesce around Peña Nieto to take him to the presidency. Asked about how he will then governor to break with the forces that backed him, the State of Mexico officials articulated vague answers about how only from within the system can be changed and how only the PRI is able to do it.
Asked about how he will then governor to break with the forces that backed him, the State of Mexico officials articulated vague answers about how only from within the system can be changed and how only the PRI is able to do it. the WHO will decide whether to destroy the smallpox virus.
Geneva, May 19 (EFE) .- The World Health Organization (WHO) decided tomorrow, Friday, about the long-debated question of whether to be destroyed and the last smallpox or once again postponed the date.
Representatives of 193 Member States gathered at the World Health Assembly, will address the fourth time in the last quarter-century if the time has come to get rid of these live virus disease was officially eradicated in 1980 , as proclaimed WHO.
But if the virus is not present in nature or in man or other animals, samples are still jealously guarded by two high-security laboratories, a center in Atlanta (USA), which has more than 400, and another in Koltsovo (Russia), which stores 120.
In principle, the decision to destroy the last known samples of the virus was taken by the international community in 1996, but countries are divided over the timing of it.
The last time the WTO members took a decision was in 2007, when once again decided to postpone the date of destruction.
Smallpox is a highly contagious disease, and was one of the most feared in the world for its high mortality rate, 30 percent of those affected, until he could be eradicated after a global vaccination campaign intense.
The last known case occurred in Somalia in 1977, as a natural infection, but the danger of the virus finds an incident in 1978 in Birmingham (UK) where an employee of the School of Medicine, University died because of a laboratory accident.
All indications are that tomorrow the WHO will postpone the date for destruction five years, as several countries, including Russia and the USA have submitted a draft resolution to that effect.
U.S. Secretary of Health, Kathkleen Sebelius, confirmed this week in Geneva have presented this project, and reiterated Washington's position in favor of keeping even the virus for research purposes.
Sebelius described the fear that these viruses are still in other laboratories in addition to the two officers, and that can be used in a bioterrorist attack.
"We fear that the pox virus is present outside these two official laboratories and can be expanded or intentionally used as a biological weapon," said U.S. Health responsible. He also noted
Washington is conducting further research to be sure that it could hinder a possible recurrence of the disease because one of bioterrorist attacks.
supporters continue to argue that keeping the virus is the only way to develop new vaccines or drugs, because you can not do experiments with it in humans.
Other voices of countries and change experts are favorable to the destruction of the samples precisely on the grounds that it is dangerous to keep them.
"Those who want to destroy ya, remember that the disease has been eradicated, and stress that the technology exists to develop new vaccines and Drugs, said Aphaluck Bhatiasevi, the media service of WHO.
For his part, Gregory Hartl, another UN spokesman, said such decisions usually are made in the WHO by consensus, but acknowledged that this case, because of differences might be needed for a vote.
addition, although the adoption of the decision to destroy most strains, the WHO has no powers to enforce the resolution or to impose sanctions.

sexual revolution, the cause of pedophilia in priests: study
The New York Times published this week information about a study of five-year, commissioned by bishops from the Vatican to give a definitive answer to the reason that caused the sexual abuse crisis of the Catholic Church has concluded that these events occurred by priests poorly prepared and monitored and they were under stress due to social and sexual turmoil of the mid-sixties and seventies.
Los conocidos casos de abusos sexuales de menores cometidos por curas crecieron exactamente during those decades was that found in this study. The problem worsened when the church hierarchy responded by showing more concern for the perpetrators than the victims.
The explanation "blaming Woodstock" has been used by bishops since the church was caught in the scandal in the United States in 2002 and by Pope Benedict XVI after he broke into Europe in 2010.
However, this study seems considered the most respected on the scandal of the Catholic Church in America. The study, begun in 2006, was conducted by a group of researchers at John Jay College of Criminal Justice the city of New York at a cost of $ 1.8 million. Half of that amount was provided by the bishops, with additional money donated by Catholic organizations and foundations. The National Institute of Justice United States, the Research Agency of the Department of Justice gave $ 280 000.
The report was released Wednesday by Catholic Bishops in Washington , but the Seligión News Service published a report on study since Tuesday. The bishops said they expect the report to advance the understanding and prevention of child abuse in society.
The researchers concluded that it is not possible for the church-or to anyone, previously identified abusive priests. The priests who abused children do not have specific psychological characteristics, histories and personality disorders that distinguish particular cures have committed abuses, according to this study.
Since the scandal came to light, conservatives have gay priests accused of committing abuses, while liberals have argued that the whole culture of male delibato parish was the cause. This report is not very agreeable to any position.
The report notes that companies keep gay men to enter seminaries in significant numbers since the end of the seventies and during the eighties. By the time that this group entered the church in the eighties, records of child sexual abuse made by priests began to fall and then ended.
If something says the report is that the abuses diminished as more gay priests came to serve the Catholic church.
Many more boys than girls were victimized, according to the report, not because the perpetrators were gay, but because they simply had more access to boys than girls in parishes, schools and extracurricular activities.
findings in one of the most contrary to expectations, the report says that less than 5% of the priests who committed child abuse showed a pedophile behavior, defined as a psychiatric disorder characterized with recurrent fantasies, desires and behavior with an interest in young lambs.
This finding may be controversial, partly because the report defines prepubertal children under 10 years. Using this division, the report finds that only 22% of abused children were prepubertal
Finding That is likely to Prove controversial, in part Because the report employs a definition of "prepubescent" children as Those age 10 and under. Using this cutoff, the report found That only 22 Percent of the Priests' Victims Were prepubescent.
The Psychiatric Association's Diagnostic U.S. and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders classified as a prepubescent child is under 13 years. If John Jay researchers have used in this study the same division, have found that the vast majority of victims of abuse had been prepubertal.
Even before him, the lawyers of the victims attacked Report on suspicion based on information provided by the Church.
In Philadelphia, where a jury found in February that 37 parents suspected of sexual abuse or misconduct are still serving in the ministry. The archdiocese initially rejected the findings of the jury, but soon suspended 26 priests.

to persevere in the current strategy crime, there will be "victory and peace," Calderon
In Ciudad Juárez, with the caveat that you can not deal with organized crime with a disorganized state, Felipe Calderon called the political class to support the security strategy without haggling and recriminations, and to stop hiding behind the division of powers, federalism and "party colors."
felt that politicians, governments, political parties, congress, mayors, media, civil society and citizens must confront the dilemma of stay in anger or to act as the generation that "began to impunity."
acknowledged that in this border city, as in many parts of the country, "went through a tough time for a moment of darkness", but hoped that persevere in the ongoing anti-crime strategy will be " victory and peace. "
commemorate the centenary of the signing of the agreements of Ciudad Juárez, an event known as the political victory of the Mexican Revolution, the Federal Executive defined as a challenge to ensure that the plurality in the exercise of power not be a barrier to join forces tasks such as cleaning of rogue commanders.
formal session of the Congress of Chihuahua, which was installed in the theater Hugo Rascon Banda, Calderon spoke of the two options against organized crime is the ruling class.
"We can be remembered as the generation that was lost in the division, in wrath, on irresponsibility. A generation that hid behind the separation of powers, orders of government in partisan colors do not should do, and what to do. A generation, pure and simple, who buried his talents and blamed the other for what happened, "he described.
And then outlined the opposite scenario which, he argued, means" shake off inertia "to support anti-crime strategy." Linger recriminations and accusations absurd " he asked.
"We can be" proposed, "the generation that started the end of impunity and that started the transformation of Mexico into a nation of laws and prosperity."
argued that advance in this effort and to persevere in the fighting and containment of criminals may be defeated.
Calderon said that, as now happens in this state, must work ever more coordinated, "because you can not deal with the crime without considering the strength of organized crime. And you can not face the organized crime with a disorganized state. "
trust said that "together we shall prevail over the enemies of Mexico."
argued that violence and organized crime threaten democracy and that this challenge "compete equally at all levels of government", as required by the Constitution.
act was pronounced by state vision and therefore "move beyond our legitimate and understandable differences" and put the interest of the nation.
Madero Calderon cited in the warning issued a century ago "that the hatred between brothers are losing the notion of patriotism" and said that hopefully "that will never be our case"

mass protests in Spain: Revolution or manipulation?
pijamasurf...
Visions found around massive protests in Spain: there are those who celebrate the legitimacy of citizens' movement and they crave in revolutionary odes, some people talk of a new theatrical manipulation of the elite co-opting massive movements for their own citizens
On May 15 thousands of people took to the streets in protest in various parts of Spain, called by Democracy Now and cyber group under hashtag # nolesvotes. It is estimated that more than 130 thousand people participated in the citizen complaint has been divided into a continuous mass protest in the Plaza del Sol in Madrid (and in other cities in Spain) and some call, with echoes of Egypt and the revolts Arab Revolution. "
The trigger for the protest appears to have been the union before the repudiation of the Law Sinde, an initiative that would allow the government under unclear bases and possibly even arbitrary close Internet sites it deems infringe on intellectual property. The approval of this Act made supporting parties to join the lobby of the corporatocracy but in turn provoked the union of civil society in its rejection, under the baton of cyberorganization on blogs and social networks.
Two of the leaders of these protests are academic blogger and new media expert Enrique Dans and the founder of news aggregator Digg, Ricardo Galli. While there is no doubt that Most people who congregate incomformidad respond to a sincere policy-in a country that suffers from high unemployment especially among youth and is like most countries of the elite victim business-some conspiracy bloggers are beginning to doubt these protests (while others extol as revealed galactic revolution) .
Interesting is the fact that on Sunday 22 regional elections held in Spain, in this sense the timing of the protest may be reflected in the polls. A fact that should also be considered in the light of the speed with which this protest was organized and circulated by the media in a week election.
For some, the fact that practice leaders (although Enrique Dans said no leaders) are Dans, associate of the country (whose director is a member of Bilderberg), educated at Harvard and part of the political mainstream media (the same system as real seek to unseat revolution), and founder of the site Galli Digg, a news aggregator that receives millions of hits per month and censoring content that has to do with conspiracies, UFOs and other alternative information. Can geeks make a revolution? Can someone who eats so well the system seek to kill it?
Moreover we have that all the mass media in Spain have given huge coverage to the protests almost celebrating its occurrence, to some extent serving broadcasters and promoters of civil protest. This is for those who are suspicious of the media and its close relationship with political power is a sign that there is something wrong with the movement. Recall that the movement in Egypt that led to the downfall of the dictator Mubarak was also boosted by the CIA and the apparent shift in power to a government from the people has not been in any way.
The site Anti-Imperialist writes:
"could be a deluded and say that it is a popular awakening, but only we would be fooling ourselves and many other people. To get hold (in much the overnight) events such as the May 15, we need a media that are beyond the reach of grassroots and independent, this is something they know very well many political and social movements that have been fighting for their demands, for many years and have never gotten the results of this movement, and even less that the mainstream media would reflect their demands, as if they have done in this case. "
The same site notes the presence of the English NGO Oxfam Intermóm in organizing the protests. This NGO began as the Mission Secretariat and Propaganda of the Society of Jesus, thus suspect could generate proactive involvement of the Jesuits (Vatican tight arm).
Trinity Site Ground makes an interesting retrospective of the cover of The Country of the movement before 15M somehow whipping:
Public 05/09/1911 titled "Youth finally ... and reacts unworthy. "
On April 8, the country talked about "angry young but too well" to announce the call in code "juvenile"
"We must recognize that to be a movement labeled" anti-system ", the event has been announced in the newspapers more than I have memory."
Here are two possibilities, on which it is difficult to decide at this time and distance. It is possible that the times are changing communications are opening up the internet to organize social movements at high speed relatively independent, while the glut of society to the political classes increases proportionally to the extent that increased transparency mechanisms (ie WikiLeaks.) Wick protest spreads in the world digital avalanche awareness and increases exponentially until it is a real threat for the real power ( as fearful Zbig Brzezinski said "global political awakening ).
The other possibility, which handled the conspiracy, suspicious of everything that comes from a mass medium such as El Pais, is that "all a sham, a mount, the new version of pan y circo en la era de la (des)información. Los movimientos politicos que vemos son en realidad acontecimientos superficiales de una estrategia y una agenda oculta cuyos ajedrecistas yacen en la sombra, manipulando y creando revueltas de países enteros –títeres- para servir a sus ignotos intereses (los Rothschild, Rockefeller, Bilderberg, Iluminati etc.)”.
Probablemente una mezcla entre estas dos versiones de la realidad es lo que estamos viendo con estas protestas masivas. La genuina y casi incontenible manifestación del pueblo en contra de la corrupción-explotación-manipulación de la business elite political class and the appropriation and infiltration of these movements to be used to it by the same people that the movement seeks to unseat. Maybe in Spain the real corporate power-political view that a revolt was inevitable and it was better sucite and keep it under your control ensured. Or maybe the protest grew organically and the possibility of reprmirla and dismantle decided use to her advantage with a judo mechanism, keeping the Western illusion of democracy and tolerance.
is too early to define what is happening. In this sense we present a summary of which raises the protest movement and then a series of links with different voices on this political phenomenon.
- Abolition of unjust laws. Deleted and replaced as the Law Sinde standards, the Bologna Process, the Aliens Act, the Political Parties Law and the Electoral Act. And supports key laws approved by the Cortes are preceded by a referendum.
- Third Republic. Some want a referendum on monarchy or republic, others bet directly to rid the Constitution everything having to do with the Royal Family.
- tax reforms. Advocate "to favor lower income" to "pay more the haves" and "that VAT is a progressive tax." In addition, among other things, like "the establishment of the Tobin to tax speculation and the movement of capital and that the results obtained by these taxes accrue on social policies." Also call "nationalizing the bailed-out banks."
- Transportation and mobility. Promote public transport and alternative to the car, creating a network of bike lanes, travel pass subsidize the unemployed.
- Reform of the working conditions of the political class. It calls for the elimination of salary for life, formal education (which contested to) the review and assessment of policies at the end of each term, free and fair electoral lists of alleged political corruption.
- Total Termination of Church and State and Division of Powers. Religion should be limited only to privacy and judges should stay away from politics.
- participatory and direct democracy. Bet operation on the base assembly-citizen (neighborhoods, districts ...) supported by the Internet and new technologies. They also requested participation in matters relating to the management of budgets by the various administrations. In general, decentralization of political power.
- Improvement and adjustment of labor relations. Basically it is to end the precarious wage and the "abuse" of scholars, establishing a minimum wage of 1,200 euros, with a State guarantee employment and equal pay.
- Ecology and Environment. Immediate closure of nuclear plants and support sustainable economies.
- Recovery of public enterprises privatized. The Administration should take over management again.
- Force of the State. Reduction of military spending cierre de las fábricas de armas y negativa a la intervención en cualquier escenario de guerra.
- Recuperación de la Memoria Histórica. Condena del franquismo.

Rock'n roll between the "walls"
De Tom Stoppard, dirigida por Alonso Ruizpalacios, Rock'n Roll es una obra que contrasta los movimientos juveniles y el rock, with the emergence of historical events that marked the critical path of rebellion during the last half century and relate to the rise and fall of ideological and generational barriers, real and invisible
Rock 'n Roll is a staging that spans more than twenty years of contemporary history: beginning with the Prague Spring of 1968 and ended after the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1990.
With a start package (one of the leading ladies out the context historical work prior to rendering), the plot development is slowly enveloping the viewer's senses, thanks to the live music that crosses the track of the songs most representative of the hippie movement: the first Pink Floyd era, through the Rolling Stones, the Beatles, Bob Dylan and Velvet Underground, to the Czech band blues and progressive known as The Plastic People of the Universe.
addition, for the cohesion of rock with political speech and ideological, are two figures of major importance, which are constantly evoked: first, Václav Havel, dissident playwright and socialist, author of The opening (work that is currently presented in the Forum Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz) and honored by Stoppard in this story with the character named Ferdinand. And, on the other, Syd Barrett, the legendary lead singer of Pink Floyd, an icon for almost three generations and Stoppard also pays tribute to compare it with the god Pan in the voice of Eleanor (Karina Gidi), one of the characters protagonists.
The plot of the work can be seen various levels of discourse that can be grouped in the evocation of three walls: the wall Berlin, the wall of John Lennon and the "wall of shame", stated briefly.
The Berlin Wall
This wall is impenetrable line between capitalism and socialism, its bricks reflect an ideological barrier to symbolize the Cold War and the construction of " Iron Curtain. " This is the historical and political discourse that permeates much of the work. The Soviet intervention in Eastern Europe, with the recurring figure of Václav Havel and the awareness of a repressive state apparatus and unambiguous.
Here there is the arrival of Soviet tanks in Czechoslovakia, the brief reaction on the streets during the Prague Spring in 1968, the blind repression, the establishment of the famous Ministry of Interior was intended, in effect, internal control each of the Czechs. Also the first attempts to loosen the bureaucratic structures of transnational dictatorship through the drafting of the Manifesto 77, whose signatories were persecuted.
A wall built of concrete and metal desks rickety, decrepit by archivists to keep records as of communist dissidents that the instruments used for torture. However, here also comes the hope of liberation and the collapse of the wall, the desire for "socialism with a human face", which is no longer the poor face of repression, of imprisoned or tortured.
The John Lennon Wall
This wall comes in Prague after the assassination of the singer in 1980. This is the discourse of the "counterculture" youth-led, rock, drugs and sexual liberation. In this wall the protest group who just want "to be left in peace", the songs of Lennon, Dylan, the chords of "golden hair" by Syd Barrett. The slogan that shouts "no more political or ideological discourse because we are up to their mother." On its foundation feels nostalgia pass but failed cherished freedom of the sixties, whether in Prague and Cambridge, still wanders around the indomitable figure of Barrett and broken dreams.
Here are the archivists themselves, but they only come out poppies and marijuana, as a protest and an antidote to the monotony and the mechanization of the human spirit. More than a slogan: "We must make love not war" rock and "liberation of the senses," the instinctive desire for "a revolution of consciousness."
In this regard, Jan (Juan Manuel Bernal), a Czech student, a lover of rock and sent to England as a communist spy, represents the inflection point between the two walls and narrative levels: half and half ideological puppet free-thinker, it Syd Barrett and Vaclav Havel are idolized as well.
However, the rock can not be too pink or just release and flight from the control and deployment repressive and coercive. Long ago that "rock bands" left to represent what this genre was at first. It is no secret state absorption and commercial trivialization of this movement, as well as cultural events real. Probably, this is the impression left by the rock and socialism after more than twenty years of historical and cultural review.
The "wall of shame"
Located on the border between Mexico and the U.S., is the most recent wall, although not a central theme of the work , is alluded to in a reference teaching about other characters, including the viewer in the historical fiction piece. It is a further level of discourse, which is not represented directly, but trying to be the germ reflective public to take home: in a time of freedom and the individual is exalted to the unheard, how far We are a "new inquisition" or a new and revolutionized office?
Finally, it is worth noting the dynamism and the use of theatrical space implemented in this work. The scenery is at the center of the room, while the public installed around it, which breaks the line of traditional fiction and hierarchical representation-viewer. The characters come out as easily as the stage or stairs, between the seats of the public or behind a door. The stage directions are projected onto a screen while the actors take turns to write on a typewriter whose sound is connected with the music and voices on the scene.
In turn, the actors leave the role of your character to specifically address the public in order to contextualize depicted, thus reminding one of the premises of the theater of Bertolt Brecht that made the actor a guide and, of representation, a projection of the viewer. All for the sake of awareness of one's own historical condition of the public.
Thus Rock'n roll is a true work of resistance (both addressing the issue as execution time on stage) that accounts the theater as a space that combines the celebration, pleasure and critical. Representation leaves open facing the public and historical reality. History, rock, insight, meditation and reflection with joy.
